As a trainer/coach the last thing I want to be associated with is what enters most peoples minds when you mention 'personal trainer'. That is someone who stands over you and barks random, illogical and unthought through exercises at you till you are lying in a sweaty heap. This is counter productive and often dangerous.
The human body is incredibly complex and still not fully understood. The reasons for many peoples weight gain and dysfunctions are often as varied as their hair colour. Making somone starve themselves and thrashing them to death twice a week will very often be sending them further away from their goals than when they started.
It is extremely important to do a wide variety of tests and assessments to find the underlying reasons why the individal can not achieve their goals.
Is it hormonal, biomechanical, lifestyle, digestive, phychological? You just don't know until you do the detective work to find out!
"If you're not assessing, you're guessing"
In saying all of this you would be wrong in assuming I am completely stuck on the corrective, meditative side of health and fitness. My background as an internalionally competing powerlifter shows I know the practical definition of hard work. So when you are working with me, be assured you will be challenged. Just remember that it will be to the right direction and right for you as an individual.
